So I just bought the TP-link Archer C50 under the impression that it could improve my internet speed. The specifications on the router lists:

“300Mbps over the 2.4GHz band and 867Mbps over the the crystal clear 5GHz band, the Archer C50 is the superior choice for seamless HD streaming, online gaming and other bandwidth-intensive tasks.”

However, I didn’t realize it had a 10/100 WAN port restricting the internet to around the 90Mbps when doing a speedtest.

Am I an idiot for not realizing how to utilize the full potential of the router or is it just false advertising?

I am considering returning the router to get something I know works with my internet instead.

Can you guys help me?
