So, I’ve been sitting here with my father for approximately 90 minutes so far. He is quite ill and is to the point that he can no longer walk/sit up by himself. He simply has no strength.
I completely understand that the ER is the ER. Staff can only do so much so fast. There’s an order to triaging patients. I get it.
What I don’t get is why the day after Christmas is THE busiest day of the year in just about every hospital ER. Wtf? Everyone just tried like hell to avoid dealing with their medical issues until after the holiday? Judging from the multitude of coughing, hacking, mucus spewing AHs in this room that can’t be bothered to cover their festering germ holes…I’m guessing they’ve already infected their loved ones with the gift that keeps on giving and now want to actually deal with it for themselves. How could anyone put of getting treated for a contagious illness so that they can be with family for a day or two when it means spreading wtvr infectious condition they’re suffering from?? I’m sure their families appreciates the bonus sickness this holiday season. I know I sure do.
We will likely be sitting in this flourescently lit cesspool for hours to come. My father is old and ill. We didn’t wait or put off coming here. Yet here we are amongst the maskless plague spreaders, crammed into uncomfortable chairs and overpriced vending machines.
Just venting. I know nothing I say will change anything.
