Russian military victory over Ukraine is not inevitable. It is extraordinarily unlikely, in fact, unless Western support for Ukraine collapses.

Hrm… Putin wants everyone to think Russia is gonna win no matter what, so the West gives up n pushes Ukraine to surrender… but the numbers say the opposite. This yr Russia has barely gained any ground while losing 40k+ soldiers a month, n Ukraine has actually taken some land back. Russian officers lie to their bosses abt how things r going, Russia can’t recruit enough new troops to replace the ones it loses, n Putin is scared to force ppl into the army b/c Russians r sick of the war. Ukraine is using drones to take out Russian troops b4 they even reach the front… so small Ukrainian units can stop way bigger Russian attacks. Russia is now bombing Ukrainian cities n power plants to break ppl’s will, but that kind of bombing has never made a country quit a war it was holding its own in. Bottom line… as long as the West keeps helping, Ukraine can keep fighting, n the goal should be making the war so costly for Putin that he takes a deal he doesn’t get to dictate.

Yeah AEI is trash, but this article is a good article and it establishes that even people like AEI think russia isn’t winning.

Pointing out, debunking, and spreading awareness about state- and company-sponsored astroturfing on Lemmy and elsewhere. This includes social media manipulation, propaganda, and disinformation campaigns, among others.

Propaganda and disinformation are a big problem on the internet, and the Fediverse is no exception.

What’s the difference between misinformation and disinformation? The inadvertent spread of false information is misinformation. Disinformation is the intentional spread of falsehoods.

By equipping yourself with knowledge of current disinformation campaigns by state actors, corporations and their cheerleaders, you will be better able to identify, report and (hopefully) remove content matching known disinformation campaigns.
