Howdy, brothers and sisters. First of all, I must admit that I’ve never been a religious person, even tho I’ve been raised in a christian (orthodox) family. Even so, I’ve always had that uncertainty and fear in me, y’know the one that some of us have at some point in our lives, the one that makes you think that you’re alone in this world and that makes you wonder about it’s meaning and all that. I love life and want to get the most out of it, and even tho I have little to no knowledge about Islam, it already feels a bit personal to me. Btw, I bought a Quran a few months back (not in arabic). Feel free to join me on this journey of exploring Islam and leave any questions and suggestions that come to your mind. I’ll do my best to respond to all of them. Thank you!

why Islam specifically?
-
Do you value more feeling good, or being more aligned with the truth state of the world so that you can accomplish your goals more effectively?
- I tend to be more of a pragmatic person when it comes down to the way I think. The very least I can say for now (with certainty, that is) is that Islam caught my attention with it’s stragihtforwardness and, in a certain way, simplicity and logic construct (obviously not the right reason to become a muslim, but neither the wrong reason for some ‘‘tip toein’’’ and studyin’).
- The second option.
P.S. also I appreciate how sincere and obedient are muslims regarding to their beliefs and practices
Can you explain how Islam is more logical and straightforward than secular epistemologies such as rationalism, since you value truth?
both start from assumptions, which kinda levels them in that sense
P.S. also, they don’t have to always contradict each other
