I remember for the first like 2-3 years this game was out it had mediocre reviews. Has it really earned its now Mostly Positive rating? I hadn’t heard about any major 180s from the studio but I also haven’t been following that closely.
Not really. Far as I recall, when they left a note about moving on in 2025, it was seen as an abandonment rather completion of development, with some players complaining about some long-standing bugs never getting fixed.
Can’t say what happened since because I gave up on it back then due to some kind of frustration I can’t remember.
I’m guessing it’s coop jank fun and enough players didn’t stick around long enough to wade through the bad stuff.
I think it ended up with more positive reviews because there were some deep sales and even some free events that boosted players later in the game. I picked it up when it was free and played a few days. it was fun and could be challenging. But if it were released today no one would even look at it, the game is pretty dated.
