Recently I got a Diptyx eBook reader. And it doesn’t come with a backlight or light at all. Its my favorite eBook reader at the moment.
I’m looking for a light or something that I can easily strap on the eBook reader without messing with the e-ink displays. Anyone know of any tiny illumination options?
A book light, especially if you have a cover to attach the light to.
Theres not a whole lot of room for the clip. I have three and 2 are too big. One won’t fit and will damgde the screens.
How is the build quality feeling? I love the look of this thing.
Very high marks but has some serous issues im hoping to fix myself(?).
The build quality is very nice. Heavy for an ebook reader. It has PHYSICAL BUTTONS! But…they are clicky. Last night my wife had to tell me to put it away cause “click…click…click…” sucks when you are trying to sleep.
I can probably remove the clicking mechanism from the push button and redo that one part (right button specifically) and 3d print a rubber knob instead.
After using the software for a bit, im thinking this may be the biggest issue with the device. I was able to get A build working for it…but its in dependency hell. And the original github repo didn’t specify specifics so im trying to reverse engineer how he built the whole thing. Once I do, it should be easy to replicate and add in the features I want. But until then, im just going to have to trust his firmware. Its only been out for a week and people are still getting theirs.
Hopefully they can get the software fixed. That can def make or break a ebook device for me. Once I found Crosspoint (for my xteink) and KOReader (for my kindles and pocketbooks), I don’t feel I ever wanna switch.
