Full height images - eviltoast

Just updated and full height images are gone. I miss them. It’s basically like using thumbnails, having to click into a meme to read the top and bottom text. Please allow for full height images/cards again.

The reason I’ve been using using Liftoff over Connect for Lemmy was because of the full height images. I agree, the functionality needs to be brought back as a setting

Seconded. I really miss the full images as well. I find myself clicking every image now just in case there is a hidden punchline.

I prefer the shorter images myself, keeps it looking nice and clean. Maybe it makes sense for it to be a toggle option in Settings for those who prefer to have it?

They commented on this in the thread for the release of this version, they will make it a toggleable option.

I installed lift off to see if I liked it better than jerboa, and initially the answer was yes… But the short images are a hard pass for me.

Glad I’m not the only one. It’s definitely one of the features I prefer over Jerboa at the moment

Just noticed something else. It seems to be a fixed image window. Short images are letterboxed.

This would be a good feature as an option along with fixed size placeholder to prevent jumping around of the feed because of slow loading images. If full height images are the only option that would not be possible. So having an option and fixed height placeholder would be best.
