I think it’s worth thinking about why this dog looks perfect to you. Is it the size? The cuddleability? The cleverness? There’s many breeds out there and you’re sure to find one that meets your expectations. The most important thing is to be sure that you have the time to take care of it. Walks at least 2x per day and playtime regardless of how rough your workday was. That can be rough for some people and a no brainer for others.
Agreed, that is a mutt and a very good boy. Maybe some lab in there.

I think if I ever get a dog, this would be it. But I say that every other day about all kind of dogs.

Oh I‘m very aware of this and that’s the reason we have no dog yet. If we ever get one we will make sure that we habe eough resources for it.
That kind of consideration means you’ll be a great dog parent. Don’t be too scared going into it - it seems like you’ll figure it out just fine.
