My kid is angry with me because I asked her to clean up her make up in the bathroom or I’m going to use my arm as a croupier’s stick and swipe everything into the bin. I don’t think I’m getting a cup of tea now.
The other week, after almost tripping for the millionth time, I told my kids that if they kept leaving their notebook computer chargers where they’re liable to get trodden on, I’d confiscate them. Sure enough, the next day nothing’s changed, so I confiscated one. I did return it after a while. But since then, they’ve kept the chargers and cables neatly out of the way.
Or just trip over one… creating a massive crashing sound, leaving behind a broken charger, along with coffee and broken glass all over the floor.
I can understand it, to be honest. Kids don’t get a lot of money and makeup’s expensive. Sure, you’re right in that she should clean the damn stuff up, but like… kids’re irrational and jump to anger responses a lot.
(Does she have a caddy type thing to put it in? I got some extra shelving and caddies in my bathroom and now it stays organised. Feels good.)
Yeah I bought her a caddy. It’s all good now, she cleaned it up and then apologised and gave me a hug.
