Worth upgrading to M3 from my 2020 Intel Macbook Pro? - eviltoast

I have a 2020 13 in. MacBook Pro with the 2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 chip. I’ve been considering upgrading to the 14 inch M3 Pro - MacBook Pro. Mainly going to use it for personal stuff, browsing, watching videos and coding. With trade-in, gift cards, student discount, I can get it for about $1100 after tax.

Opinions on if it’s worth upgrading?

It is definitely worth the upgrade, but keep your use-case in mind, I would consider getting a MacBook Air and upgrading the RAM and storage.

Coming from the Intel MacBooks to any of the Apple Silicon MacBooks is gonna be a great upgrade. I still absolutely love my M1 MBP.

Any m chip is an insane upgrade over intel.

My m1 air performs better than my fully loaded 2020 mbp
