Printer On The Floor - eviltoast

Just ordered an elegoo neptune 4 pro and planning to just put it on the floor since I have no extra tables. Other than not looking as good, I don’t see too much of a disadvantage. Maybe I can raise it up with the filament boxes? What do you guys think?

I currently have mine almost on the floor and it’s a terrible idea for ergonomics

I mean it’s not like you’re gonna be kneeling all that often are you? Just scraping the print off the thing right?

Spending time on knees doesnt sound healthy. My printer is 35 cm above the floor and I found it so bad, Im raising enclosure as soon as I get time.

Dont hurt yoursef and get a table. Boxes are not rigid enough for that, you can get cheap Ikea Lack table if you cant get anything better

I have my Sidewinder (300mm x 300mm) on a Lack table, so it can fit most printers and only costs like $12.

The only potential problems I can see with that:

    • If it’s on carpet or a rug, that could potentially block vents or get tangled in a belt.
    • If it’s in a high-traffic area, it might be kicked or tripped over.
    • If it’s too close to a (particularly cold) vent and not in an enclosure, that could cause some warping of parts during print.

Those are really the only concerns I can think of. If you choose a spot on the floor where none of those are an issue, I’d think it should work as well on the floor as on a desk or table.
