iPhone 13 photo weird dots - eviltoast

Today I shot a picture with my iPhone 13. It was taken from within the Signal app. When I looked at it on the computer I noticed those white dots on the wall on the right. I can assure you, there are no dots like this on the wall at all. My only clue is the alignment of the dots pretty much fit to both of the LED lamps on the left.

Has someone experienced something similar before? To me it feels like the image processor did this. tbh I don’t like it. If I’m right I believe this should be fixed. We need to rely to a certain degree that what was shot, will be visible on the image and not some constructed reality.

What do you guys think?

It’s a reflection of your lights on the left side … iPhones unfortunately have this problem.

Internal lens reflections from strong, point source lights. It’s common among many smartphones (whose lens constructions are necessarily simpler than dedicated cameras) and has been more prevalent on iPhone since the iPhone 11. It’s not an artifact of digital processing, but more akin to lens flare.
