Help with Starlink and Deco M5 - eviltoast

Hi. I have Starlink with the router disabled and Deco M5 plugged in. Have a further 4 M5’s on the Mesh network.

A Speedtest on the deco app gives a download speed of around 270mbps. Using the Speedtest app it gives a speed of 25mbps. We don’t have any connection drops, but constant buffering on most devices. It just seems really slow.

I used to run with x2 networks with the Starlink router being called Starlink and the deco SSID being StarlinkDeco. I read that this could give a double NAT issue so I made the Starlink router disabled its WiFi. If anything things are now worse than before.

Are the Deco’s just rubbish? Any help would be great. Also is it possible to reset a Starlink back to Stinky if I’ve lost the password that came with the dish and router?

Any help would be really appreciated.

Try readjust the other Deco location, you can’t put too far if its wireless backhaul.

To reset the router I think there’s an option in the starlink app.

If you can get 270 from a Speedtest, it’s not starlink that’s the problem. It could be the Speedtest server used by deco has an uncongested route while the server you’re using has a congested route.

If you’re using wifi it could be interference.
