Has anyone showered with iWatch 8 or 9? - eviltoast

So I bought my first iWatch 9 a couple of days ago… just getting used to it, coming from Fitbit Versa 3.

I have no issues showering in Fitbit (hot steam and all). Has anyone showered w your iWatch for awhile and no issues or is it a bad idea?

For me, I see no purpose in showering with the watch on. Even if you did wear it in, it would still be best to remove and dry off after you got out. Otherwise, there would be moisture trapped under the watch and band. I put mine on the charger when I get up in the morning, and an hour later after showering I put it back on fully charged.

Dude searched applewatch sub and says iwatch lol

iirc it has up to 50m water resistant. You can shower, deep dive etc… Just don’t try diving to Titanic.

The steam isn’t a problem. But the water pressure of a shower can exceed the limits of its water resistance, and the various chemicals that you use in a shower can degrade the coating on the watch. So, not recommended. Swimming is fine.

There genuinely cannot be a good reason why you can’t take it off for showers like a normal person would.
