How to manage heat from your homeab / home server - eviltoast

So I just spun up my first server yesterday it an older pc that a friend and I got off of Facebook market place. I am wanting to add pcs to my lab set up so I can turn one into a router, one for a NAS, one for VMs, etc… Ideally I’d like to turn the whole thing into a Proxmox cluster. I walked into my office/ guest room and already noticed that it in warm in here, I am assuming its from the server that has been running since last night.

Can anyone recommend ways to build the home lab I want without turning my office into a sauna? lol

Current specs of the server i have running: i5-3550 12 gb ram 3x hdd (total 5 TB) 1x 1TB SSD only has like two or 3 fans because of the case lol

I’ve run more than that in a small closet with poor ventilation. Only got up to around 85 F or so. Unless your room is super duper sealed, you probably don’t need to do anything special.

I have a server rack in the garage, and ran some Ethernet cables between the garage and the office. Best decision ever.
