Siri is describing images. - eviltoast

My friend just sent me some images on iMessage, and Siri described them in the announcement through my AirPods. The descriptions weren’t great, but they’re definitely using some sort of image recognition. Has anyone else heard this? Was there any kind of announcement?

It JUST happened to me today for the first time. A friend sent me a picture and I was driving so CarPlay received it and Siri shared the description. It wasn’t accurate but it was the first time that happened instead of just saying sent a picture

Just discovered this a few days ago. Caught me surprise. Friend send me a photo of a stuffed toy and clock on a wooden surface and Siri announced it and I checked at the next red light to see if it was true and it was.

Happened to me on Sunday when my dad sent me some photos. Had no idea what was happening at first.

Mine has been doing this since I updated to 17.1.1 iOS I can’t figure out how to turn it off, but it’s annoying. It’s not accurate and I’d like it to just tell me someone sent an image. Not describe it poorly
