Hi all,
I am trying to figure out why my download speed is so much less than my upload speed over WiFi. I must be missing something.
I’m using a TP Link Omada EAP670 access point wired to a TP Link POE 1gb switch which is then wired to a Omada 1gb router.
Device used for the Speedtest is an iPhone 14 Pro.
The router is hooked up directly to the ONT with FiOS gigabit service.
I live in a 4 unit townhome with a few other networks that could cause interference on the 5ghz band but I am using DFS channels to try to mitigate this.
I have 2 EAP670s but 5ghz is only enabled on one AP to further limit interference.
Wired speeds are great, I’m getting nearly the full gigabit up and down.
Does anyone have any idea why I don’t get a more symmetrical upload and download speed over WiFi? I’m really quite lost.
hey there, it’s not uncommon for WiFi to have faster upload speeds than download speeds due to various factors like interference, distance, and network congestion. Since your wired speeds are great, it’s likely related to the WiFi setup. You might want to experiment with different channels and placement of your access point to optimize your WiFi performance. Good luck!
