So i wanted to build my first home theater a few years ago but covid screwed me over and had to wait. Finally this month i’ll be putting it together. I have a 65inch Sony x900h in a small-ish open air living room in a 1 bedroom apartment that has very good soundproofing and is brand new.

I’ll be aiming for a 5.0 system for now on a 1500$CAD budget and most of it’s use will be for video games (Ps5 and switch) and a bit of movie. I’m planning on buying 4 JBL stage a130 for front and surrounds and a JBL stage a125 center (i think that’s the matching center). Thing is, i’m not sure what Denon receiver would be the right choice, i’ve been eyeing the x1700h but don’t know if the more recent x1800h or the more budget s760h would be a better choice.

I’m also confused about all the extra stuff i would need to buy, like which gauge wire and banana plugs should i go for?
