    You are more likely to have an impact by lobbying auto insurance companies to either mark these cars as uninsurable or Jack up their rates because they’re more likely to kill a pedestrian in an accident.

    Supposedly the cafe standards are based on the wheelbase of vehicles, so they started making vehicles larger to comply. With smaller cars it’s harder to meet the cafe standards.
