Of the 99 counties in Iowa, 66 currently lack access to OB-GYN and birth services. At the state Board of Regents meeting on Nov. 9, Kim Hunter, interim chief executive officer, chief nurse executive, and interim associate vice president of UI Hospitals and Clinics, said this lack of resources is only getting worse.
Heard this mentioned in a podcast and thought it really important to share in light of the defacto abortion ban that was just signed into law in Iowa and has no rules in place to govern its implementation we’re about to see this problem get even worse.
Women can’t vote you out of office if they all flee the state!
It happened in Idaho already, the bans came in and providers started leaving the state. Who would guess they don’t want to go to jail for providing medical care. GOP doesn’t care though, farmer bob will keep voting for them regardless
The GOP is frighteningly sure that public opinion will not impact the outcome of elections. Abortion is supported by a solid majority of the country, yet they’re confident they can essentially outlaw it and there won’t be consequences at the ballot box.
Makes you think. 🤨
I really hope women really show up to the next few elections. I’m hoping everything the gop has done has backfired and hopefully starts waking up the silent majority. Even those boring local elections need to have heavy turnouts.
