We’re witnessing the second reddit wave now, just like we always knew it would come eventually when reddit crossed another enshitification threshold.

    Welcome all!

Facts, it’s already happening when most of the perfectly fine comments are collapsed in any interesting topic. Like yesterday when twitter was down. Every comment under the top level memes were collapsed so you have to click the + in front of it and get bored quickly and just give up. Same today with Musk post about being all weird about his empire.

nothing to see here move along type of thing

I’m pretty sure my account ban is coming, the fact it isn’t banned already is likely an oversight of the fascist running the place.

Maybe it’s the fact I have only one? There are a couples places that would be a lot quieter if I stopped commenting and I’m guessing they don’t really want to bite the many hands that feed. Once comments die it’s just a graveyard of links.

I don’t think it’s based on your contributions. My main account had over 600k comment karma when it was banned.

They are purging anti-corporate perspectives and anti-genocide perspectives, this is becoming clear. They now have a social credit system where they track accounts that upvote posts which are later removed.

They probably want to make the AI training data a bit more pro corporate and right wing.

FWIW, there were also a few smaller waves before the big API one, but they were mostly individual communities migrating (/r/piracy, /r/genzedong, …)

These last few messups are too silly that I can’t even guess what they’ll do next. Surely they won’t force ID registration…
