Specifically, on Thursday I asked about potential ways to help Ukrainian civilians on the front lines not affiliated with the government and in need of help, specifically through fundraising for organizations that can render that kind of aid. I was promptly (correctly) rebuffed, with it being pointed out that there have just been major disasters and crises in Morocco, Libya, Niger, and other non-white places that 1) probably need the aid more and 2) aren’t tied to active imperialist projects. Furthermore, it was pointed out to me that money sent to even neutral agencies would probably still end up in Zelensky’s pocket one way or another. Upon reflection, I realized that my idea was silly, short-sighted, thoughtless, Eurocentric, possibly chauvinist in practice, and overall bad. Therefore, I decided to stop posting for the weekend and instead think about (ruminate on) what I did, and then post a self-crit on Monday. So here we are. I welcome further condemnation and effortposts (effortreplies?) on how I did a bad thing, and possibly official censure by the mods should they deem it necessary.
