Google Maps will rename Gulf of Mexico as Gulf of America in the U.S.. However, users in Mexico will see “Gulf of Mexico,” and the rest of its 1 billion monthly users will see both names. - eviltoast

Every American should report the inaccurate name to Google repeatedly until they change it back. How many reports would it take to at least inconvenience Google?

Also Google on 2008: “By saying “common”, we mean to include names which are in widespread daily use, rather than giving immediate recognition to any arbitrary governmental re-naming. In other words, if a ruler announced that henceforth the Pacific Ocean would be named after her mother, we would not add that placemark unless and until the name came into common usage.”

    Okay. But…

    Why?

Not as in why do it, I know exactly why and posted about it earlier. It’s TERRIFYING. It’s REALLY bad.

But as in “why comply?” Fuck is Trump gonna do or not do that Google’s so fuckin’ interested in. Man fuck this guy and fuck google. I already don’t use them as much as I can, but FUCK THEM.
