iOS 16 & 17 - Share sheet all apps missing - eviltoast

Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve an issue I’m having on my iPhone where the share sheet only shows AirDrop, Messages, Mail, News, and Books? I have many, many apps installed that offer share extensions (Facebook, Instapaper, Things, among many others), and many of Apple’s own apps (e.g. Notes) are missing from this list too.

You’ll note from my screenshots that the missing apps are not listed under More.

What I’ve tried so far:

  1. Reboot my iPhone
  2. Delete and reinstall some of the missing apps
  3. Upgrade from iOS 16.5.1c to iOS 17 Public Beta 1
  4. Reset All Settings

None of these have made any difference to the issue.

Mmm. The only thing on there left for me to try is to uninstall every recently-updated app I can think of with a Share Sheet extension. Will give it a try!

Have you checked your content restriction settings? All sorts of app lock down and settings can be blocked from there

    Resolved! But still mysterious.

I decided to try uninstalling and reinstalling every recently updated app on my phone, starting with my TestFlight apps. The first one I tried, Pocket Casts, doesn’t even have a Share Sheet extension, but after uninstalling it and rebooting my phone, my Share Sheet looks normal again! Reinstalling the Pocket Casts build did not reintroduce the problem.

I had definitely tried uninstalling and reinstalling several apps with Share Sheet extensions before to no avail, but this was the first TestFlight build I had tried uninstalling since the issue arose.

    YMMV.

This was confirmed to be a bug in the Pocket Casts TestFlight build I was using.
