Would love to hear your thoughts on Arcane Season 2 in this thread! I just finished it last night.
Personally, I had a great time watching it! I’ve heard the sentiment that Season 2 feels like they had 3 seasons’ worth of plot, which they crammed into just one because Netflix didn’t want to fund it anymore, and I definitely agree with this. I think that is really my only critique of Season 2. Well…besides Imagine Dragons and 21 Pilots 🤪
Pretty much my thoughts, too. There were several elements that seemed really interesting but weren’t ever fully explored, and the main drive or goal of the story kept changing. Definite pacing issues.
One in particular was this idea of Jinx as an icon of rebellion. They spent several episodes building up this idea of Jinx taking Silco’s place as the decfacto leader of Zorn, but uniting them in a way Silco never could because she has become such an icon to the people. Then the werewolf daddy plot hit like a freight train and that whole build-up was forgotten about.
yeah it felt like there could have been a season 2 that ended somewhere around the Jinx prison break at the end of EP4, and then you have season 3 open with the situation of Jinx seeking out Vi to help her find Vander. Though so much happens in the story AFTER that point that idk, maybe that would be too much to crunch in. But it would have been nice to spend a season in the situation where Caitlyn is mad about her mom’s death and she’s on the warpath, while she and Vi are slowly fighting more and more. Would have made it hit way harder when Cait realizes she’s wrong and she and Vi reunite.
