“Surely this penny will be enough to remain in business!” exclaimed Spez as he triumphantly held it up in the firelight cast by the still crackling pile of Benjamins.

They added real time chat a few years ago but never made it part of the api so it was only on new reddit and the official app. I only remember it exists when I’d be on my pc on reddit the odd time and see an additional notification.

I only noticed it on rare occasion when I used new.reddit.com. People used it! I had messages there everytime whereas I almost never got DMs to inbox. Occasionally if it wasn’t super old I would respond for a little while and they were always real humans.

Never noticed it even on desktop with res installed. But by the same token it was really small subs I tended to make my presence known.

See, folks? When I say that you shouldn’t mind removing your content from Reddit, even if helpful to other people, because it’ll eventually get lost anyway, this is what I’m talking about.

How much do you bet that, in the future, they’ll also delete old posts and comments?
