I exaggerated for comedic effect, sure, but it is true. There is a statistically significant number of people who are autistic and identify as trans/non-binary as compared to neurotypical people.

I would argue correlation over causation. autistic people are generally less likely to care about societal conformity and be open about their gender variance and gender diverse people are more likely to seek out a diagnosis. one is unlikely to be causing the other.
along with that, it’s largely irrelevant and this type of rhetoric only aids right wing peoples in labeling gender diversity as mental illness in need of treatment and/or demonization.
