Community Rules

Don’t be a jerk Don’t start or continue flame wars. Don’t troll or harass people, for any reason. Don’t use personal (ad hominem) attacks. This includes things but is not limited to; anti-denominational language, sweeping generalizations, bringing up of conversion/Jewish identity status, bigotry. Additionally, telling people to be quiet or go to another community is as unacceptable as the rest.
Don’t proselytize. Don’t proselytize for other religions or lack thereof.
No antisemitism.
Don’t make clickbait. Don’t change submission titles into clickbait for link posts. Your thoughts and opinions should go in the comments. It is not forbidden to change titles across the board. Changes to the title that offer no opinion, and clarify content, are fine.
Don’t fundraise/survey without prior permission. Message the mods for permission before posting fundraisers, advertisements, surveys, requests for interviews, or any other type of solicitation. This applies to personal, commercial, media, and academic posts.
No questions about fasting Any questions about fasting or the intersection of medicine and Jewish law may be removed. Ask your rabbi and/or doctor
No Politics Political posts go in the appropriate megathread. This includes posts about antisemitism in politics, as well as posts about Israel/Palestine that are not otherwise directly related to Judaism, or Jews doing Jewish things.
If it’s worth reporting, report and don’t respond If a post is worth reporting, report it and don’t respond. If a lot of things are worth reporting, message the mods. Don’t feed the trolls, don’t play mod, don’t tell somebody “hey, you broke the rules”. Just report it.
Reports are most useful when you give details This is here for reporting purposes as most of the time writing a description is the most helpful thing to do. Using the custom response is usually the best idea.
No reposts Especially for articles, but also for general questions. If you ask a question that is answered in the Wiki or can be found by searching the sub, your post will be removed.
