At my first software company job in the 90s, they had windows 3.1 on the PCs when I first got there. That version had a feature where you could configure a sound file to play, right as windows was loading and it couldn’t be interrupted. I would set that to play a 3 minute long reggae song (.wav) on my friend’s computer so when he came in, we would all hear that play through his tinny little built in speaker and he couldn’t stop it. Took him a week to figure out how to remove that.

I’m pretty sure every millionaire CEO and CTO I’ve met (at “small companies”) would also say they don’t have time to actually use a PC these days. So funk them too.

On my Linux PC, it’s KDE that enables that. Is awesome. YMMV

Thanks, I actually asked myself that very question recently. I wonder if just selling parts and doing repairs could replace the bike sales though?

I considered the idea of a mobile repair van instead of a shop too.

Totally anecdotal, but in my area, if you try to book an appointment at any local bike shop for a repair other than a flat tire, they’ll give you a date a month away. We need more mechanics here too.

But I’m learning to do more on my own now.
