Some of my local restaurants had to cut their own delivery service and only use DoorDash. There’s approximately 3 places that deliver near me now, it absolutely sucks.
1·3 days agoEven that amount of interaction can be exhausting/taxing after a while. Hell, even passively observing hateful remarks, even if you never respond to them (which, generally, you shouldn’t. Don’t feed the trolls) is emotionally exhausting. My recommendation is to just curate your community. Make a private space wherever you want, invite your friends and the most positive fans (people who you would like to be friends with perhaps) and that’s it, close the door. YOU decide who gets to come into your house and speak to you.

It wasn’t THIS bad, but I remember recently a massive lifted truck revving its engines in our small town, flying massive trump flags on it went by while I was out for a walk with my husband. I commented, “Now there’s a guy who really wants you to know he’s an asshole” and this dude turned around and gave me the UGLIEST look and shook his head at me lmfao.

Salaries? Unless you just go the startup route and pay people in promises and equity.
The Orb Must Grow
It’s not as easy to find good, living blogs/sites off major platforms but if you can a lot of them do this. Book Notification has a weekly list that you can opt into, for example. The Indie RPG Newsletter has tons of TTRPG recommendations.
I think we’re back to the point where things need to spread by word of mouth though, because discoverability is so difficult for little indie blogs.
Got curious and tried to find any papers on it. The ones I could scrounge up seem to be very (SHRUG) about it so hey, it can’t hurt probably!
I try to shy away from extremely hateful, violent thoughts but I genuinely think that great suffering needs to be visited upon the demon that came up with putting advertisements in gas pumps.
1·14 days agoRespectfully disagree with your stance (which is fine, as fushuan said, there’s games enough for all of us.) When I was younger and played more games, I would frequently look up how to get through them on GameFAQ. The joy wasn’t in figuring out puzzles, it was in getting to see the story unfolding.
Ditto, definitely had relatives literally saying the 2008 point for me after graduation.
