Oh no, you!

This is where I was tempted to respond with a joke, referencing your gender and sexual identity, as an example use of what I consider acceptable in this particular contex. While you would probably get the joke and not be offended by it, I have decided against it, since there are likely to be people stumbling in, not understanding the context, and taking offense to it. Audience matters, intentionally or not. Plus, the written form makes it harder to convey the humor in a manner that cannot be misunderstood.
Plus, I can only imagine the “this you?”-screenshots when I try to state explicitly that the boards I mod are against homophobia and transphobia, or anything similar.

I’d say it’s OK, provided that:
But then again, I am rarely the target of any slurs, so it’s not really up to me to decide.
Example: This coworker and I used to make jokes about each other’s background all the time. I was mumbling under my breath about how much I hated the paperwork involved in filing expense claims. He said something referencing my lowbrow hillbilly background and how it didn’t mesh well with paperwork. I offered him 10% of the payout if he used his Jewish superpowers and did the paperwork for me. There were maybe two or three others present, all of whom knew us and our dynamic well, and nobody called HR on either of us.

What do you use mega for? Just curious…

These days American manufacturing is so bad they couldn’t even manufacture consent

Obligatory; It’s called linux
Back in the day I used Nagios to get an overview of large systems, and it made it very obvious if something wasn’t working and where. But that was 20 years ago, I’m sure there are more modern approaches.
Come to think of it, at work we have grafana running, but I’m not sure exactly what scope it’s operating under.

I forgot the name, but someone in this thread mentioned an online service where you generate payment cards that allows you to pay for stuff with more privacy.

I haven’t done my taxes on paper in over 20 years.

That triggered me enough to attempt proper use of emojis: 🤯
I would show a screenshot of how I do my taxes, but then I’d doxx myself, my family, and my employer.
EDIT: The tax authorities have a video showing an example in English, for some reason: https://youtu.be/lzhL0otHsJs

Norway, by the way.
I get an SMS each year whenever my preliminary taxes are ready. I then log in and get presented with a form listing different sections relevant to me: loans, paychecks, any dependants, etc. Each section comes prefilled with all the numbers, so I just have to glance over to make sure they didn’t miss anything or any relevant deductions.
I can submit a correction if some of the numbers are wrong for some reason, or add any sections that they’ve missed.
The deductions in my OP were mostly about me and my SO having fours kids together. By default, deductions like this is split 50/50, so we tried moving the numbers to see if we managed to get a better total. Turned out the difference was neglible.

It certainly does. Which do you use?

Kagi.com - excellent search engine. Yes, it shouldn’t be needed, but in this day and age it clearly is. Excellent slop filter, and it let’s you downrank and uprank certain sites in your search results. And I just found out you can see the most popular sites for each category, so it’s fast and easy to see which sites probably are and aren’t worth having in your results at all. It makes internet search feel like it did 20 years ago.
Namecheap.com - It’s where I have my domain names. Mostly because they aren’t godaddy.
EDIT: Forgot to mention hetzner.
Please edit your post so that the title takes the form of an actual question (Rule 2).
Failure to do so will result in us mods unleashing unholy fury at levels previously not thought possible (meaning, so low intensity it borders on apathy).

I never quite understood wtf is up with how the US tax system somehow includes a filing cost. I’d love to learn more, but I suspect it’d get me way too excited for this community, and not even in a good way.
All the relevant numbers should already be registered somewhere. Pulling them into a prefilled form should be trivial.
From the thumbnail, I thought this was another post about bathroom scales.

40s. Saw Lemmy mentioned on Reddit around the time of the API debacle. It became clear to me that reddit would not be usable in the long run, as it is unusable without 3rd party clients.
Upon checking Lemmy out, it reminded me of the kind of internet I hadn’t seen in ages, so I stayed.

Not that strange. Different users may belong to different groups which may have different authentication backends. The associated authentication method is brought up once a username has been provided.
Nah, it’s not that good, but I can give you a censored version of the ending:
“I’m not homophobic, some of my best friends are f-slur !”
