Yes you also need to not be an asshole, and that’s important, but if you don’t start talking to women in the first place, they can’t know you’re an asshole or not.

Well yeah, men have to approach, so most of the burden of learning to date falls on men. That means you need to figure out which girls are attracted to you and which aren’t, how to approach in a cool and casual way, how to be friendly and funny to keep them interested, how to take care of yourself so they feel attracted to you, etc. It’s tough being a young man out there. Really you should probably be talking to other guys your age about it, as they’ll best be able to critique what you’re doing wrong.

It sounds like you try to control your mom’s behavior a lot. You should focus on the behavior you can control (yours): finding fulfillment in yourself and accepting others the way they are as you want to be accepted.

A lot of heinous things aren’t necessarily against the law. For example, there’s an email in the file from a law professor advising him on legally trafficking minors to states with lower ages of consent.

Non-lawyers have zero capacity to do that, though. There’s a big difference between what any one person wants the law to be and what it actually is.
