Frying is the transference of heat through oil or fat. Air “frying” is just heating.

Agreed, and this article is written backwards.
Problem: Audio is a low power (relatively low data) signal that goes over wire. Audio data (not audio) sent via USB needs decoding into audio before it gets sent down the headphone wire. Implementation fails due to insufficient bandwidth. Graphs and textual details go into details about the bottlenecks.

Agree. This is another revenge fantasy from people that think the idea is great, without understanding that the implementation part is where it’s gonna break down.

That’s more informative, thank you.
I’m not pretending to be any kind of expert, as you can tell from my initial inquiry I’m not familiar with this, I was only responding to the way it was portrayed to me in comments.

Actually about 1997-2015
Most of the 90s was renegades and hobbyists. The gravy boat for lazy incompetants didn’t start, really, until the post dot-bomb bubble pop settled around 2003ish

Because it sounds like they were employees not IP owners

Are we in the same reality? No, because the question is what do we need to do to make the Fediverse better.
You being here isn’t one of those things apparently.

The influx of new users in the last 4 months has shown me there needs to be some disincentive for posting the same regurgitated sentiment-based shit that you see every time you log in. Regurgitated sentiments and memes represent 95% of the content… yes AI bad… Israel bad… Cheese powder face man bad… I feel depressed… I can’t afford a house… robots took my job. How many times can we as a community re-state what we already know to be true.
This is Reddit 2.0 let’s not kid ourselves.

That’s a bit of a different presentation than “stole” just saying.

What does this have to do with anything.

I held bent paperclip up in the air just now. I’m electricity science man!!!

Exactly, as hard as it is to swallow for people, there was a time when coding was a cushy job that you could land after drinking through college. Those days are gone, and it’s back to what it was when I was a dev: you made your own way; You made something awesome and you force companies to look at you and say holy fuck let’s get this person they’ve got something going on.

They can’t get a job because they do not possess any skills that are marketable… I hate to break it to you, but going to computer Science school doesn’t make you a coder, and doesn’t make you good at anything.
I know it’s not implausible, but the fabrication about contacting the company that had the contract to make the signs blew it all apart, the fonts are heavily controlled and copyrighted and they would lose the city contract if they got caught, no sign printing company is going to go out of business to make six bucks off some random dude.
I saw a commercial in the 70’s for Starburst. All of them were the same pattern: Person pops candy into their mouth, next scene is them taking off hang-gliding.
I thought if I ate a Starburst I’d get sent flying off a mountain like the hang gliders. Not in a fun way… eat this candy and you’re getting flung to your death off the top of a mountain. (I didn’t understand what a hang glider was either)
