Can confirm. Am dumb and lazy.

I’m with you. I also come from the Usenet days and much prefer to follow topics over people.

I do have some web forums that I visit from time to time but those have even less traffic than Lemmy.

I don’t use Reddit at all now, so Lemmy is pretty much the only option for this style of topic based content. The ability to follow hashtags on Mastodon is kind of nice too. Unfortunately, people spamming unrelated hashtags on their posts can still be a problem.

Now wait for the media to frame this as a hero story rather than focusing on the broken system that requires him to work until his last breathe.

Unless there was anthrax in the envelope it won’t do anything.

I was wondering how feasible this is for an average Joe. My assumption was not very, thank you for confirming.

Right? I just set up a new phone and had Firefox installed but no extensions yet. Had to search something and the website I ended up on was plastered in ads. Is this how some people actually live? I closed the site and installed uBlock Origin and then went back to the same site. Holy shit, night and day difference.

Accountability is career limiting.

No, he’s pretty much an idiot.

It also gave up the location is a US military base somewhere I believe.

Probably true. Especially with the current hardware prices.

I had a GeForce Now Founder account but finally let it lapse as the price kept going up. I also bought into Google Stadia and it was great technology wise.

I don’t see cloud gaming as a bad thing as a backup, or when you’re on the road.

However, like everything these days, the fuckers will just keep jacking up the price to squeeze every penny out of the market. Or lock it down so you have to buy from their store.

This is the real problem. The technology is capable and we could have nice things but these assholes will just ruin it so fuck 'em.

Trying it out now and it seems to do the job. Thanks!

I would be interested in this as well.

I use EndeavourOS as my main as well and never have issues as long as I stay away from the AUR.

I found the O’Reilly Red Hat 6 book online and it came out in August 1999. I would have pegged it earlier than that but I guess not.

My first Linux distro was Red Hat 6 around 1996 I would suspect. It came with a Linux book that I bought.

I’ve stuck with Debian on my server and EndeavourOS (Arch, btw) on my PC. Both have been rock solid.

That would explain some things.

War has always been good for business.

It’s all about maximizing shareholder value. Unfortunately, companies have come to the realization that happy customers are no longer the path to success. There is more value in capturing a market and then gutting services to squeeze those pennies out. Long term this can’t be sustainable but here we are.
