It looks like the percentages are based of a total of $37.95, so it’s possible there was a discount included that made their total closer to $30.
I’m here to satisfy my addiction to doomscrolling. Bring on the memes.

Not saying this isn’t real and completely scummy, but sometimes the tip is calculated before discounts, gift cards, and whatnot. I always tip based on what our total order was even if what we paid was less. If this is truly trying to fudge the numbers to take advantage of people then that’s shitty.

My husband and I have both gotten flu and Covid vaccines each year. I guess we’ll have to see if there’s a different way to get her protected this fall…
I would kill time with this for a little while but over the last few months the audio lag has made it unusable in my opinion. After opening and pressing play it would take a few seconds for it to start playing, and then after swiping to the next one the audio from the previous one would keep playing for a few seconds. I could swipe through like 4 or 5 videos until the audio would catch up. Also, the hashtags are nice but at the moment they function where I have to select one, watch it, swipe back to the hashtag page, select another one, and repeat. I want to just be able to scroll through hashtags or someone’s account instead of clicking on individual videos (like you used to be able to). My following page gets stuck after a few videos where I can’t scroll anymore too. I’ll reopen it when the update drops, but there’s definitely issues to iron out.
93maddie94@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What were your parent's rules on video games?4·9 days agoI grew up with a gameboy advance sp that was a gift from my grandmother and we got a family Wii when I was about 12. I don’t think my mom knew much about the ratings but we weren’t allowed to play much besides mario kart and Wii sports. I started playing more when I moved out at 18.
93maddie94@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you name your cars, if so what have you named them?5·11 days agoBlack Dahlia - old Chevy s10 truck and I was a moody teen
Frank - old gold ford explorer that was a grumpy old man
Madame Red - Oldsmobile Ciera that was red
Ares - black ford explorer that was an old undercover police vehicle and a tank
Nessie - silver ford explorer. Full name Vanessa, V for short (5th car, Roman numeral 5)
Mysia - blue rav4. Absolutely loved this car. Got rear ended and totaled within 4 months.
Athena - Nissan rogue
Bonus: my husband’s cars
Barney - purple car but named for the how I met your mother character
Mozzie - named for the white collar character
Sylvie - named for the Loki character
Yes, it’s $5 off $20 or more. But it’s not out of the kindness of Scholastic’s heart. It comes out of your book fair profit, so the money is taken out of the fundraising amount for the school.
It also varies from airport to airport. I get frustrated when I travel because I always get yelled at by TSA agents for following the directions of the previous airport. Some places want all devices out. Some only want laptops. Some want the bag of travel liquids out in their gallon bag. Some allow you to leave them in. But they all act like I’m supposed to know what their particular rules are.
My husband taught middle school math for one year. He didn’t have a teaching degree but had enough college credits in the subject to be emergency certified. While he was teaching another teacher asked for his help in passing their test. He was a little taken aback that the teachers of the subjects couldn’t pass the tests in the subjects they were teaching.
When I took my tests as part of my education undergraduate I had zero issues passing and was a little concerned about my classmates that did. A decade in public education has not lifted my opinion of the general intelligence of some educators. (Many are genuinely fantastic, but that’s not always the case).
93maddie94@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is the best, and conversely, the worst wedding you've ever been to, and why?5·1 month agoWe had hot tea as a unity thing for the two of us, but he said it was a Chinese tea ceremony which is where the bride and groom serve tea to their families.
93maddie94@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is the best, and conversely, the worst wedding you've ever been to, and why?91·1 month agoBest: can I say my own? Everything was tailored to my tastes so I had a pretty good time. It was summer but we had the ceremony and reception in the same place (indoors with AC), the catering was provided by the owner who was a professional chef, DJ did both live and recorded music, sparkler send-off at the end, had a nice little bridal room downstairs to get ready and keep stuff safe. The only thing I would change was the officiant. He was an old family friend but made everything too Jesus-y, mixed up light year as a unit of time in front of a several meteorologists and nasa scientists, and claimed that something we did was a Chinese tradition despite us explicitly telling him it was not and neither of us having a bit of Chinese heritage.
Worst: overall it has to be my brother’s last year. So first, my grandma had a stroke like two days before and was taken off life support during the rehearsal dinner. The officiant forgot his notes and spend most of his speech talking about how marriage is hard and you might want to get a divorce but you shouldn’t. And the speeches from the best man and maid of honor were cringy and naive (to be fair they were all like 19-21 years old).
Runner-up to my best friend who got married in a non-air-conditioned barn on a humid July day.
I call my mom “mom”, but now that I have a kid I use her grandma name more frequently. Honestly it’s a little easier to call her that, I have some unresolved stuff and while we’re friendly the mom term is a little much. My daughter calls me “mommy”, but usually doesn’t enunciate so it’s “mah-ee” most of the time.
Swap one of the Cinderellas with this. Sexism that spans decades!

Found a few accessories and whatnot still in there. Consolidated down to just a few boxes to hold accessories and documentation. Now we’re slowly building the collection again, but we’re better than before. (Mostly because having a kid cut our disposable income quite considerably).

I have a literature.cafe from even before my lemm.ee account, but it doesn’t federate with piefed (at least in any way that I’ve noticed). Several communities I follow switched to piefed so I wasn’t able to see or follow them with literature.cafe
I’ll follow our pediatricians advice.
