    Maybe there is a limitation of purity. Like the ones that got it from “infection” instead of genetics are not pure, so they cant infect more themselves.

      That would mean that all werewolves would eventually become extinct as they could not reproduce. Their lineage would be in constant decline.

      Now, if you instead make it that only OLD werewolves can infect others you can have the same limit on sales with a reasonable excuse as to why they don’t overrun the world from exponential growth. Something like it takes years of transformations before the infection can change their genetics enough to be passed along through a bite.

        Uuuh no. They would just have to fuck one of their own kind to reproduce. Thats what i mean by getting it from genetics. The other commenter hit the nail on the head calling it werewolve eugenics. But yeah, being able to bit people to infect them sounds much more fun.
