Turns out he is disqualified from qualifying results. A sad weekend for Williams… Albon had qualified 8th.

I used to like watching F1, but I tried paying more attention to the rules and dig deeper into the sport. The insane and crazy rules made me lose interest. I really want to like F1, but it just seems to be a “leashed” sport to me. Can someone explain things in a way that will make me happy to watch F1 again? Please.

Whoever finishes first wins, and overtakes are fun. I know more rules but don’t care much about them. Minimum amount of tires, overtakes off the road and pushing your opponents off track are there to make the paying playing field fair and balanced but usually don’t matter for the enjoyment.

I’ve been in a similar situation before. I like to say I’m a huge F1 fan but I can’t say I’m 100% knowledgeable in everything F1 and all its rules and sometimes that makes me feel like I’m not a real fan if I can’t recite each and every sporting code from the regulations.

I’ve come to realize that as long as I enjoy watching the racing and keep an open to mind to learning new things about the sport, that’s all that matters. I watch videos on YouTube and try to understand as much as I can. F1TV has great primers on the technical stuff and one of the commentators they’ve hired recently provides great insight.

This season’s been a blessing and renewed interest and excitement amongst everyone compared to the past couple seasons which were fairly dull.
