Republicans ask Supreme Court to block 40,000 Arizonans from voting in November - eviltoast

The Republican National Committee is urging the Supreme Court to intervene in an Arizona election dispute this week and block up to 40,000 of the state’s registered voters from casting ballots in the presidential race.

Republican state lawmakers say these voters did not provide proof of their citizenship when they were registered and now they should be barred from voting in person or by mail.

side question, they want to drop those that failed to follow with some paperwork, wouldn’t this sample be expected to have the same ratio of dem/rep than the rest of the electorate? why would it be majority dem?

They probably looked into the districts they voted out of and these are mostly democrats. I’m sure if you looked into the Republican ones, there would be even more than the 40,000 they say there are.

Their claim is that these people didn’t properly prove their citizenship so I’m sure they just started looking at people’s last names and went from there.

Poor people tend to be busy people who don’t always follow up on their mail. And there’s just enough education left in this country that poir people still tend to vote intelligently… just enough
