Bluetooth
- Fixed a 3.6 regression with the Steam Controller and some other third-party controllers causing session crashes.
- Fixed an issue where Bluetooth peripherals would disconnect on session switch.
Display
- Fixed an issue where the internal display could remain blank after disconnecting an external display.
- Fixed a 3.6 regression where the selected refresh rate setting would sometimes not apply immediately.
These are some good fixes, I’ve run into some of these issues.
Oh thank FUCK that fixed that black screen external issue
Yeah, it’s super annoying. Have to plug the deck back in to the external screen, shut it down, unplug it, and restart.
Yeah!
Wow. That’s going to make my SteamDeck way more fun.
Ironically, I had this issue a lot more often with my official licensed SteamDock than with a random USB C to HDMI adapter I dug out of storage.
Is it the same as “sometimes when I go to Desktop Mode undocked, KDE decides that I have zero screens” and I’m staring at blackness? I have to ssh in and shutdown to fix it.
Not reboot, shutdown. If I reboot, the next time I go into desktop mode I’ll get the same thing. I think there is some ring < 0 or EC shenanigans going on there.
Our steamdeck gets the most use connected to an external display with us playing local multiplayer games, the blank screen sleep / resume issues being fixed will be really nice, I am tired of having to fiddle with it every few sessions.
