      An easier way to think about it is: If they speak Spanish they are Hispanic. If they are geographically from Latin America, they are Latino. For most people you could use them both interchangeably, except in a few cases like Brazil.

      I think you could use Lusitanian as a synonym of Portuguese. Though keep in mind is like referring to a British person as a Briton.
