That’s… not a good thing, right? I mean it usually is, but Blizzard being the toxic cesspool we now know it already was before the merger, wouldn’t it make more sense to just replace the entire c suite with Microsoft people?

      Activision*

And also yes. Actiblizz needs fixing, bad. That the acquisition might provoke some changes in that direction was the sole reason to be a little happy about it.

I’m on your side. Mainly because I was also really hoping for some sort of revival of Heroes of the Storm :P. Seriously, Blizzard is not the same company I thought I loved growing up.

However, I did watch someone on YouTube that talked about working Gears of War and execs of MS were less than helpful.

      I think it’s Laura Fryer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69gs773bZRI

It has been many years ago though. Blzzard and Activision definitely could use a change of leadership in my opinion.

which bliz are we talking about, the toxic workplace one, or the one that was milking everything from fans and devs and then dumping the later?

The ‘let Blizzard be Blizzard’ quote comes from the opinion and point of view of the Executive Producer and Vice President of World of Warcraft and their meetings with the folks from Bethesda and Mojang and comparing notes. It doesn’t appear to be an official stance of Microsoft to not shake things up, but rather World of Warcraft itself is doing just fine that no one seems to want to intervene in its development.

“There’s no one asking us to do anything,” she continued. “World of Warcraft is doing very well and they’re very proud of what it’s been able to accomplish, so it’s almost like just let it be, and let it keep being awesome. They’ve been tremendously supportive and it’s like ‘let Blizzard be Blizzard’.”
