What an infuriatingly entitled thing to say. Yes we can say that. We can and should have stronger regulations around this stuff. We’re building all this new supply but it doesn’t matter one bit if it just goes on airbnb.
Every capitalist “free” market has rules. There is no such thing as a perfectly free market, nor should there be, unless we want a system closer to feudalism than a democracy.
This is getting ridiculous. Clearly, ample (non-profit) public rental housing is needed.
“Short term rental” is just a tax evading way of saying hotel.
