I just bought one for $1100 with 7 cycles on the battery. It was apple certified refurbished so it was basically perfect

I just bought one of those same ones with a new battery for 1080$ after tax a month ago. So I would imagine you should be getting a better deal since it’s black friday and cyber monday and there’s all the deals.

I’d expect you could get it for like 950$ with the deals, but 1100$ is fair.

Definitely, the battery thing is just a thing Apple users have to deal with. Another tactic to keep us at the Genuis Bar.

Worst possible outcome is the battery dying mid project and never powering the computer on.

As long as you maintain it properly, $200 for a new battery will feel like you spent your hard earned $1500 on a new Mac. Trust me.

You’ll have more than 186 cycles.

The battery may be a problem But the price it’s fair See if the seller can sell it at 900-1000 Due to the battery

I’d add two hundred and pick it up at a discount (there are still some cool deals on Amazon)

My M1 Max also has horrible battery health with very little cycles. It seems to be a common problem on these Pros, based on a quick online research

Even if it were in 50% it would still be doing great numbers compared to other laptops.

I honestly would not replace it until it only last about 4 hours on a charge. At 86% probably still does 10 hours.

Likely true (I own an M1 Pro and Air), I’m more concerned about battery swelling. The chemical changes are accelerating, and the first casualty is the trackpad. Worth $200 to get it swapped out asap.

Also true! I would definitely have a repair shop have a look at it to see if the battery needs to be swapped. It could be that the OG owner was just using it constantly for heavy work.

Looks like a fair deal to me. Depending on currency though. I’m CAD$.

Keep in mind that the M1 (base) MacBook Pro has a tremendous battery life, so 86% shouldn’t be a big deal. I got mine at 88% (a year ago; likely was plugged in 24/7), and it hasn’t declined since.

M1 should not dip under 10 hours I don’t think, which, imo is plenty.
