For the ones wanting to get into One Piece but are discouraged by the episode count there’s a project called “One Pace” that heavily edits the episodes in order to have a faster pace.

I have a friend that wanted to watch but never had the will to start. After watching the Netflix show he got inspiration to start and when searching where to watch he came across this project. Its not perfect since there are some arcs not covered but it does a very good job trimming down the anime antics and focusing on the core.

I only accept One Piece criticism from people who watched a thousand episodes and then determined it was dogshit. I have a PhD in why one piece is bad, source is I watched up until some point in wano

I stuck with it through Arabasta because my wife assured me it gets better. I really started to like it around Marineford. Then came the dredge that is Wano. I had made it past episode 1,000 and just couldn’t do it anymore. Oden has to be the worst character ever in anything.

Damn I had to press fwd a lot to get passed all the filler and flashbacks (even flashbacks from scenes you’ve seen 10 minutes ago) in Wano to get to the interesting story bits.

To me Oden was ok, his son Momonosuke imo was insufferable at times. Heh.

So much running. I’m guessing that it’s because anime is more like an American soap opera in Japan? That’s a guess though. The netflix show was fantastic though, I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was going to be crap.

This was me for a long time. Give it the amount of time you’d give any anime you were deciding whether to watch or not. I predict that most likely you will hit that point and realize you are OK with that. I’m not all the way through yet (I think I"m only at about episode 175) and I can tell you the show has more depth than you’ll expect at the beginning.

I watch it when I feel like it, and I don’t self-pressure to binge it quickly. It’s a great show to always have a new episode of when I’m in the mood.

I would sure hope the show has depth at over 1000 episodes. I can’t imagine anything else they would be doing besides plotting out every detail of the characters lives. I would like to think by the end of it you know these characters better than you know yourself by the amount of back story.

If that is not the case, I can’t imagine what the plots could be about.

Man, I am constantly blocking Anime communities on my ‘all’ feed and they keep popping up like weeds. It never ends…

One piece is an anime that I think should be consumed in manga form. Too much running in the anime even I could flip thought pages and dialogs quickly.

That show was good and covered the subject matter in a concise but understandable manner. The anime is ridiculous.
