    Probably because inflation is straight-up crazy lately. I’ve seen some items go up 300% in the last 3 years. I understand that individual items aren’t inflation, but it’s not individual items, it’s sweeping sections of food and consumer goods. My landlord has raised my rent $600 in the last two years too. Corporations are pulling in record profits, billionaires are adding hundreds of billions to their net worth each year, and the average consumer is losing all of their purchasing power. It is honestly well into the “this is getting scary” stage.
