I happened upon this live performance of their first single, today. Apparently, Glasgow’s Altered Images got an early break when they supported Siouxsie and the Banshees on a tour in 1980 and then John Peel championed them.
Although this song has gothy undertones, they went on to have some chart hits with a more new wave sound.
Clare Grogan, their singer, is said to be the inspiration for Spandau Ballet’s song, True and some of you might recognise her as Kristine Kochanski from the Red Dwarf TV series, as well as other acting roles.
